DSPORT Media: Stay Tuned
There’s more activity in our office than ever. Whether its parts for project vehicles, new camera or video equipment or more video editors crashing our pad, it seems as though there are more projects in motion than ever before. The DSPORT RH9 GT-R is finally going back together, Jeren has made real progress on his 240SX (although he still can’t get his LSD sorted out after 8 months…don’t ask), Vinh may get a conjugal visit with his Lexus, and we may be adding three new vehicles to our D’GARAGE stable in the next two months. As you may have seen through our Facebook or YouTube channel, we’ve been doing more in video projects too. Of course, finding the perfect balance between making a great video production and getting it out quickly is always a challenge.
The Tech 101 Issue
We really wanted this issue to be special and revered by our readers. During the entire production process we constantly asked ourselves, “How can we make this section better?” Sometimes our ideas worked, sometimes they didn’t; and we reverted back to the better version. Being that the backbone of DSPORT magazine is tech and this was our first all-tech issue, we really wished we had more time to put in more cool stuff. Then again, there’s never enough time to do everything we want before the issue is due at the printer. In going through the first 100 issues, we were reminded about how much technical and consumer information DSPORT has provided over the past 8-and-a-half years. It was overwhelming. After entering the contents into our database, I’m still not 100% happy with our current directory to access the data, but we’ll work on it until it is right.
New Friends
Our New Year’s Resolution for the entire DSPORT staff is to be more active in the scene. Whether it’s going to races, shows, driving instruction or manufacturer long leads, our staff is looking forward to being more active in the scene in 2011. We took a full group composed of Americans, Australians and one New Zealander tour to the Tokyo Auto Salon this year and we hope to make that number double for 2012. If you’ve never been to Japan, the DSPORT tour kicks major ass. The tour is priced right and we know where to go and what to do. We are also working with more vehicle manufacturers and performance parts manufacturers to be your voice on what you’d like to see. We’d like for our DSPORT readership to be more active in our industry for 2011. Go to events, go racing, go cruising, get out there and have some fun. Who knows we might just see you out there.
