DSPORT: Tell us a bit about yourself Amaya.
Amaya: I'm pretty petite but I pack a big personality. I was raised with three older brothers so I'm much more of a tomboy than a girly girl. We're all very close and they still think of me as their baby sister. So watch out boys!
DSPORT: How do you like living in Northridge?
Amaya: I love it! It's 20 minutes away from everything. It's not too far from the beach and it's not too far from Hollywood. There is always something to do and the weather is always nice.
DSPORT: What led you to become an import model?
Amaya: I would always go to car shows with my friends and would see all the beautiful models. I said to myself, "Hmm, I could do this." So I worked my first show two months ago and I've been modeling since.
DSPORT: What kind of work have you done?
Amaya: So far I've worked with BabeBlvd.com and soon I'll be working with CutieCourt.com. This is my first time doing a shoot for a magazine though… definitely an exciting experience.
DSPORT: Do you hold a day job outside of modeling?
Amaya: I currently model and go-go dance part-time. School is my primary focus as I'm working on getting my bachelor's degree in computer graphics. I still have a couple years to go.
DSPORT: What do you do with your free time?
Amaya: I love dancing. So my friends and I always go clubbing. I love clubbing because everyone always looks their best, you get to shake your booty and just have fun. It's just a good vibe to be around. I also love staying at home and watching movies. I'm constantly trying new things. I'm very easy going so I'm usually down to do anything.
DSPORT: Has your "down to do anything" attitude ever resulted in trouble?
Amaya: Once, my date and I snuck onto a golf course, hijacked two golf carts and raced them around the entire golf course until his cart tipped over. Luckily, we made a quick get away before security could catch us though.
DSPORT: So you have the rebel spirit of a race-car driver.
Amaya: Absolutely! I just learned how to drive stick so I'm ready to put my skills to the test. If I could have any car in the world, it would have to be a Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R… so fast and so nice.
DSPORT: What kind of car do you drive now?
Amaya: I drive a 2004 Scion xB. Not quite a GT-R, but I love my "box." The newer model with the rounded edges just isn't the same for me. It's not ugly enough to be cute.
DSPORT: Do you obey speed limits or do you treat roads like the golf course?
Amaya: Speed limits? I never obey the speed limit. I hate slow drivers. Driving slow just isn't any fun.
DSPORT: What's playing during your road rage sessions?
Amaya: I like all kinds of music. Lately, I've been listening to techno, but I love old school hip hop and rap like Easy E, Biggie and Tupac. Oldies have to be my favorite though. The music just sounded so much better back in the day.
DSPORT: Do more guys try to approach you now that you're a model?
Amaya: Usually, I'm the one to approach a guy if I'm interested. If you are interested in me, make it obvious you're checking me out. If I'm interested, I'll come to you. I'm a sucker for a guy with nice lips. And if he has tattoos, that's always a bonus.
DSPORT: What are your biggest turn-offs with a guy?
Amaya: Bad hygiene. If you smell, stay down wind and away from me. Oh, and I have no tolerance for rude people. I was at the movies once with a date and the whole time he was on his phone texting. I glanced over and saw he was texting his ex girlfriend. First and last date with that jerk.
DSPORT: Have you picked up any fans since you started modeling?
Amaya: My fan base has grown consistently, but I know that this DSPORT?cover shoot will provide the national exposure that will make a major impact.
DSPORT: Is there anywhere fans can go to keep up on what you'll be up to?
Amaya: If you'd like to keep up with me on what I'm doing and my crazy life, check out myspace.com/Amaya_Miu or follow me on twitter.com/Amaya_Miu. My upcoming website will be AmayaMiu.com, so stay tuned.
DSPORT: Any parting words for our DSPORT readers?
Amaya: I want to say hi to all the DSPORT readers and thank you to DSPORT and ENEOS for giving me this opportunity. I want to thank my mom, dad and my loving kuyas (big brothers) for supporting me. And thank you to Ryan for pushing me to become a model. Also, thanks to all my fans past, present and future.
