DSPORT: Hello and welcome to First Date. Why don’t you start by telling us a little bit about yourself.

Ashley: I was born and raised in a small town called Vallejo in the San Francisco Bay area. I’m pure Filipina but my background has some Spanish and Chinese ancestry.

DSPORT: How did you get into modeling, and what brought you to the import modeling scene specifically?

Ashley: Whether I remember it or not, I think my modeling career started when I was three-years old. My mom showed me a picture of myself in a baby blue polka dot bikini, standing in front of a candy apple red Power Wheels Corvette. It might not have been an import but it was a picture of me in front of a car!

Actually, my older brother used to let me tag along with him to all the import shows and events in the area and I remember seeing import model superstars like Francine Dee and wishing that I was the one on the magazine covers, getting all the attention. When I turned eighteen, I started go-go dancing at some of the events and my career sort of took off from there.

DSPORT: It seems like you’ve spent a hella long time in Northern California. Have you traveled to destinations outside the Bay Area, exotic or otherwise?

Ashley: The most exotic destination I’ve been to is Borocay in the Philippine islands. It’s so beautiful there and the weather was amazing. I finally got a chance to go parasailing there and it was terrifying, but fun. And, I have to add that the food was delicious – and cheap! I can’t wait to get back there.

DSPORT: So, you can cross “surf while being towed by a kite” off your bucket list. Do you have any other less dangerous interests or hobbies?

Ashley: Every month, I help coordinate Sonoma Drift with professional drifter Lance Feliciano at Infineon Raceway. That’s going well so I may be doing that more in the future. I’ve also been playing the piano since my grandmother taught me how to play when I was four years old. Sometimes I really wish I wasn’t so busy so that I could get back into Tahitian dancing. I love doing it but I don’t really have much time to pursue it anymore.

DSPORT: Wow. Skydiving, Tahitian dancing - you give new meaning to the term “movers and shakers.” What other things are you passionate about, maybe your favorite place to eat or relax?

Ashley: Sushi and sashimi or anything Japanese – that’s what I really love to eat. Lately I’ve been really into boiling crab – I can’t get enough of that. There’s nothing wrong with a little R&R for a busy lady so sometimes I like to just kick back and escape from reality or go shopping to unwind. I’m really family oriented so partying and going crazy can be fun at times, but I really just love being a homebody!

DSPORT: So, where do you see yourself in a few years?

Ashley: Right now my education in nursing is my number-one focus. I grew up in a family with a strong education background so that’s really important to me too. Once I finish a few prerequisite classes I’ll be done and you might one day be one of my lucky patients!

DSPORT: The thought of you as our nurse is enough to make us want to get sick on purpose. Do you have any parting words for DSPORT readers and future potential patients?

Ashley: First and foremost I want to thank DSPORT for blessing me with the opportunity to grace its covers and appear on the DVD. You guys are awesome to work with! I also want to send shout-outs to TunerPlayground.com, the C.R.E.A.M. team, my family and all of my friends for their support. Finally, for everyone else out there, if you see me at an event or anywhere else, don’t be afraid to say “Hi” because I don’t bite!
