While in our neighborhood on another modeling shoot, we were lucky enough to hook up with Carolyn for a shoot and interview. Before anyone thinks about relocating North of the border, you may be happy to know that Carolyn really wants to move to Southern California. (What can we say, our staff is very charming). DS: Where were you born?
Carolyn: I was born in Toronto, Ontario and have lived there all my life but I plan on relocating to the U.S. one day.
DS: What do you like about living in Canada?
Carolyn: I love Canada for its beliefs in providing free health care. In general, Canadians are also really nice people.
DS: What don't you like about living in Canada?
Carolyn: It's way too cold here half of the year. Even though I love snowboarding and skiing, you can't do much of that in Toronto.
DS: How did you get involved in modeling?
Carolyn: I used to dance on a televised TV show then a friend of mine talked me into entering a bikini contest at an import show in Montreal. It was my first bikini show and I was so nervous. I actually wore sunglasses to hide myself. I used to be somewhat shy, but participating in bikini contests and modeling has definitely made me more confident.
DS: Did you enjoy high school?
Carolyn: For me, high school was just about getting an education. I was so shy back then that I didn't use high school as an opportunity to be social. In fact, I didn't go to my prom, dances or even my graduation party.
DS: You graduated from college with an Advanced Marketing diploma. Is college where you began to be more social?
Carolyn: Yes and no. I started becoming more confident in college since I had to make a lot of presentations for my major. I didn't really start partying until I hit 20 and then that stopped about three years later.
DS: What are your career goals?
Carolyn: My career goals are to work for a major marketing company and become one of the top representative. I thrive on selling and also meeting new and exciting people.
DS: What would you like people to know about you?
Carolyn: I want people to know that I am actually down to earth and extremely approachable. For some reason people assume that I'm a certain way but as soon as they get to know me they realize I'm the total opposite. I'm extremely focused in my life and also a positive person that works hard at anything that I set my mind or heart to.
DS: Can one person make a change in the world?
Carolyn: Definitely! I feel that the little time that I have been in the industry, I have influenced many people positively to live out their dreams. I did. And now, I have achieved things I would only dream about! It's just the beginning believe me!
DS: If you could change something about yourself, what would it be?
Carolyn: Well, one of my new year's resolutions is to cut down on the work load. Right now, I have a full-time office job plus a bunch or part-time jobs. I model, go-go dance and have taken on some trade show and event promotions. I'm a workaholic, but it's getting the best of me. For 2006, I'm going to concentrate just on my full time job and my modeling.
DS: Name something that you would like to be really good at?
Carolyn: I would really like to be good at snowboarding. Although I learned to stay on the board, I want to learn tricks and jump on high slopes.
DS: Would you rather chill on a beautiful beach or go skydiving?
Carolyn: I would rather chill on a beautiful beach. I was born to be a beach bunny! That's probably why I'm not feeling Canada's weather. It gets pretty depressing for me during winter.
DS: What are some things that you are passionate about?
Carolyn: I am passionate about achieving my goals. I focus on making my dreams come true. Also, making a positive influence towards the people that I care for in my life!
DS: That's a pretty vague answer. You have to have some passions or addictions, tell us now!
Carolyn: I don't really have any addictions. I rarely drink and I'm totally against drugs. I never even smoked weed. I've seen too many friends lose their ambition or goals with an addiction. I know a few people can balance the use and abuse, but I wouldn't want to take the chance. Oh yeah. I'm really passionate about traveling, that's why I love modeling as it gives me the opportunity to travel and get paid at the same time.
DS: Do you watch a lot of Terrance and Phillip in Canada?
Carolyn: Huh? Who?
DS: Never mind.
