If you recognize Erica, this month’s cover model, you’ll probably identify her as “that G6 girl from that one video.” Don’t dare think that she’s just about fast times and partying, though. This surf-riding, high-kicking model, actress and Kenpo black belt does randomly appear in different parts of the world at a moment’s notice, but she’s more grounded than what our eyes can see. Grab the aisle seat as DSPORT catches up with Erica Ocampo.

DSPORT: Erica, welcome to First Date. Let's start with a little background information.

Erica: I was born and raised in Los Angeles but I grew up moving around a lot. I went back and forth between my parents and attended a few different schools, but all of that happened in L.A.

DSPORT: How did you get your start in modeling and how did import modeling come into play?

Erica: When I was in high school I became a MAC makeup artist and ended up doing makeup for a lot of famous people. This opened up a lot of doors in the industry and before I knew it, I ended up on the other side of the camera modeling for different apparel companies, make-up ads and in different calendars. I never really got into "import modeling"; I'd have to say DSPORT is the first! But, I do love fast cars!

DSPORT: Has modeling allowed you to visit any exotic locations?

Erica: I just came back from Bali a few months ago. It was so beautiful that I went there for a photo shoot and ended up staying and working there for over a year. Java has to be a close second though. Basically, I love tropical regions.

DSPORT: We've seen you acting as the "G6 girl" in that music video. What other interests do you have when you're not in front of a camera?

Erica: I love dancing, writing and anything to do with the arts. I’m also really starting to get more into acting as a performing art. While I was in Bali I went surfing a lot and also ended up starting a cheer team with a friend, and I’ve earned my black belt in Kenpo karate. I also recently started taking wing chun kungfu for an acting gig; basically, I just love being active.

DSPORT: B-E aggressive! When you’re not highkicking or kicking ass, what do you do to relax?

Erica: Surfing takes up a lot of my time right now; I go whenever I have a chance. I also love to go dancing.

DSPORT: All that moving, kicking and jumping must make you hungry. What’s your favorite type of cuisine?

Erica: I love tropical and ethnic food, and lately I've been eating a lot of vegan cuisine.

DSPORT: So, where are we going to find Erica in a few years?

Erica: Acting and modeling are still my primary concentrations now, but I'm sure where I'll end up. I want to continue traveling around the world, expand my formal education and see what new opportunities I can make for myself.

DSPORT: Awesome. Do you have any parting words for DSPORT readers?

Erica: My favorite quote and piece of advice is, “Have a good life, be a good friend and try to be completely who you are.” I also want to say thank you to all my fans and finally, thanks to DSPORT for giving me the opportunity to be in the magazine and DVD. DSPORT rocks!
