Over in our machine shop, we show you the benefit of using the dry ice to fit in your cylinder sleeves more easily. • Insert cylinder sleeves into cooler of dry ice and heat engine block to 250 ºF . • Remove engine block after 30 minutes of heating. • Use retaining compound on the block before inserting cylinder sleeves. • Remove cylinder sleeves from cooler after 30 minutes. • Slide cylinder sleeves into engine block. For 2016, Lexus unveiled its latest F Performance platform, the GS F. Based on the GS sedan, the GS F enjoys all of the refinements of the GS and GS F Sport models, but with the performance benefit of the same V-8 engine that propels the RC F. The GS F also benefits from a few extra performance enhancements, including a ZF Sachs tuned suspension system and the Torque Vectoring Differential as standard equipment.
The 2015 Buschur Shootout was the biggest and best one yet. Being the 23rd annual shootout, the crew at Buschur Racing have perfected the art of throwing a great race weekend. We saw plenty of low single digit passes, exciting racing, and enjoyed ourselves throughly. Look for complete coverage of the 2015 Buschur Shootout in Issue #160 of DSPORT Magazine. For the first time we’re releasing all of our footage from Round One to the Finals. No music, no graphics, just pure racing. Gideon was out to set a personal best record in his R35. He got a killer 60′ (1.286) and great 330′. Then smoke started to come out. It got worse and he crossed the centerline just before the finish as the GT-R hit the opposite wall at over 100 MPH. He walked out and is ok. Thank God
In his first return to the drag racing action since his Honda Civic days, Jeren piloted his Nissan S14 to an E.T of 10.6. With the 700 hp S14’s maiden voyage now accomplished, Jeren has turned his attention into making this a 9 second street machine. Stay tuned for future DSPORT updates…
Back in May 2015 the D’Garage R33 battled through early issues and multiple test days to finally become a member of the famed RH8 club. Now running as smooth as ever the D’Garage GT-R continues it’s journey to push the boundaries of a street car by going even faster.
During our stay for the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon we had to chance to visit several race shops in Japan for an exclusive look at their facilities. Our first stop took us to APR Racing where Jon Watanabe and driver Yuki Iwasaki showed us where they work on their GT3 Nissan GT-R and GT300 Toyota Prius.
During the qualifying round of the 2014 Buschur Shootout an 8 second GT-R made contact with birds standing on the track. We never received word if there were any survivors or damage to the GT-R.
Picture a warm, spring Sunday and fill it with racing, a car show, vendors, a swap meet and food trucks. Add to this mix a group of gorgeous models and over 2,500 spectators and you’ve just imagined the spectacle that was the 2015 BorgWarner/IDRC West Coast Nationals presented by AEM Induction. Lines started forming before 8am on April 12, 2015, as the masses returned to Fontana. This event kicked off the season with a packed house at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California, filling the pit area all the way down the 1320.
