119-020-TopTuners-Titan-HeadshotLike many pioneers in our industry, Nero Deliwala of Titan Motorsports has always been and will always be a racer at heart. “I started selling parts as a hobby, and even then only did it to support and fund my racing habit.” Some ten years ago, Titan Motorsports was already established as a premier Toyota 2JZ-GTE and Supra-chassis tuner, with a number of competition parts under its belt and a host of parts available for distribution derived directly from Deliwala’s regular and frequent racing experience.

“We had just decided to pursue professional racing and our goal was to continue to develop the (Supra) platform and go racing. Of course, we had to sell parts to be able to go racing so we continued to do that.” The only difference between the decade time span between then and now is volume. “We are doing a lot of the same things, just at a much higher level now.”

As a racer, Deliwala and the Titan Motorsports team have firmly established themselves as top competitors, including wins in NHRA competition. “Winning an NHRA championship is one of the biggest highlights of the past decade. Being able to do it with my best friend and brother Bottle makes it hard to describe how much fun it was.” With each continuing success on the track, knowledge acquired from racing excursions is used to further develop competition platforms to even greater heights.119-021-TopTuners-Titan-ScionDrag

Over the year, those on-track successes have translated into a steady increase in sales, service and operations. “Initially, the business started out of my parent’s garage and then moved into a warehouse park,” Deliwala explains. “We would expand operations by renting another unit in the park. After we got to eight units spread around the whole park, we knew it was time to make things more efficient and consolidate our operations.” A few years ago, Deliwala moved Titan Motorsports into a single, dedicated 25,000 square-foot facility.

“Having our own facility helped us bring our parts operation all under one roof,” Deliwala remarks. [pullquote]ANY ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS CAN BUY THE EXACT PARTS FOUND ON OUR RACE CARS[/pullquote]“We put 100-percent into getting the most out of whatever platform we work on. We try to do as much as we can in-house so that we can truly sell parts that we race; any one of our customers can buy the exact parts found on our race cars.”

With the return to a smoothly running business portion, the Deliwala brothers could once again focus on racing. The cycle continues to this day as the TMS stable houses the Supra drag car and a number of dual-purpose racing and development cars including a Nissan GT- R, Lamborghini Gallardo, E92-chassis BMW M3 and another Supra used to develop parts for stock-turbo 2JZ-GTE applications.

Deliwala feels the future holds interesting and exciting propositions when it comes to import performance. “Huge advances in turbocharger efficiency allow for more power and quicker-spooling turbos that are easy to package. As long as manufacturers keep producing cars, there will be tuners like us looking to unlock and extract power from them.”119-023-TopTuners-Titan-SupraBurnout
