800 Horsepower Nissan GT-R

TIME CRUNCH

DSPORT Magazine feature editorial on 800 Horsepower Nissan GT-R Street CarWith the car near completion, Uy anxiously awaited the delivery of the Rocket Bunny aero kit. After some logistical problem solving due to shipping hang ups, Uy picked up the kit and began meticulously cutting the body work of the GT-R. After close to a week of labor, the kit was installed with the new 20×11-inch / 20×12-inch TE37 Ultra wheels wrapped in Toyo R888 rubber. The car was mismatched in color but had a sinister look that Uy fell in love with. With so much time and e ort going into the car, Uy wanted to share his hard work with other enthusiasts. Realizing that the BLOX Evolution event was coming up, Uy decided to enter his car in the show. As simple as that sounded, a 10-day debacle ensued to get the car vinyl wrapped and prepped for the event with a seemingly statewide shortage of vinyl. Finally, GT Auto Concepts stepped in and took care of the wrap in a time crunch. Sure enough, with hours to spare and plenty of sleep lost, Uy’s GT-R took home the “Best Appearance” award.

ONWARD

DSPORT Magazine feature editorial on 800 Horsepower Nissan GT-R Street CarIn addition to the BLOX Evolution event, Uy has showcased his car in many arenas. The GT-R clicked off an impressive 9.5-second elapsed time on Sacramento Raceway’s drag strip and even a 1:38 lap time at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit. These accomplishments were nothing but dreams before Uy built up this GT-R. With that said, he is more than happy with how this project has progressed but wants to continue with the build. Currently, his plans include wrenching on his car with his son Jaiden, installing a Varis rear bumper and getting a proper paint job. Whatever direction this project goes, we suspect that Uy will do what it takes to get this GT-R to perfection.
