Fresh Fuel Delivery

A Walbro 255-lph in-tank fuel pump supplies a custom 2.75-liter surge tank mounted under the chassis of the FD. From the surge tank, dual Bosch 044 pumps send fuel forward to a pair of Siemens 1,600 cc/min primary injectors and a quartet of Bosch 1,000 cc/min secondary injectors. The factory coilpacks receive amplified ignition energy from an HKS Twin Power DLI ignition amplifier. A’PEXi’s Power FC engine management system directs fuel delivery and orchestrates ignition timing events. At 21 psi boost, this FD has already generated 567 horsepower to the wheels on a Dyno Dynamics Dynamometer. With the boost set to 35 psi, the 13B is expected to generate over 700 horsepower. If that’s not enough, a NOS nitrous injection system jetted for a 200-horsepower shot gives the 13B an extra shove at the flick of a switch.

Generating wicked power means nothing without putting it down to the ground. A MAZDASPEED twin-plate clutch sends power to the KAAZ 1.5-way limited-slip differential. The axles turn Work Meister S1 wheels wrapped with Goodyear Rev Spec tires. To drop the stance and add a more menacing appearance, D2 adjustable coilovers replace the stock dampers while a carbon-fiber strut tower brace stiffens the body and sharpens handling. In order to clamp down on the power, the front brakes received an upgrade to 365mm rotors and 8-piston calipers from G4.

All Go And Show

Turning to the specialists at M&C Doyle, a custom metal wide-body kit was matched to the Origin Labs bumpers and side skirts. The custom panels add 50mm to each side of the FD, handily covering the aggressively-offset Meister S1s. Finishing the appearance of the FD, a set of C-West carbon-fiber fixed headlights take the place of the factory pop-up headlights. Inside, Recaro Spirit R carbon-kevlar seats secure occupants in place with the help of Autotechnica 4-point harnesses. Steering input is facilitated by way of a factory Nardi steering wheel, while a Momo shift knob and pedals complete the interior refinements. The icing for this ride is a set of DLS speakers driven by an Alpine IVA-W200E head unit.
