REWORKING THE RIDE

Litchfield selected this combination of adjustable suspension to work seamlessly with the Nissan’s active suspension system, providing improved dampening and ride-height adjustment. Finishing off the handling upgrades, the factory rolling stock was replaced by a set of COR wheels mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Shifting to the engine bay, the crew at Litchfield went to work on the VR38DETT engine. Litchfield’s Stage 4 package included larger ASNU 1,100 cc/min injectors, a Litchfield intake, Milltek exhaust and Litchfield’s custom ECU tune. Litchfield states that this setup yields 620 bhp at the flywheel.

He recalled, “I went with the UK GT-R Club, where our guide, Matthew Zaccanti, helped me find the Top Secret booth. Right then, I proceeded to wreak havoc on my credit card. I purchased a body kit that didn’t exist yet, and I would have to wait five months for it to be delivered from Japan.” In the meantime, he decided that the GT-R’s already respectable performance needed to be elevated to complement the new aerodynamics pieces being made.
