GReddy 35RX D1 Drift Nissan GT-R

QUICK BUILD, QUICK CLIMB

DSPORT Magazine Feature editorial on the GReddy 35RX Drift Nissan GT-RGoing from stock to drift ready in a matter of months is a herculean effort by any measure. GReddy acquired the chassis in November 2013, and had the chassis with its new Rocket Bunny aero kit on display at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon in January. By the end of March, the 35RX Spec- D had its full driveline installed and tuned, making its debut performance at the first round of D1GP at Fuji Speedway. Unfortunately, the event was rained out and the competitors didn’t get the chance to tandem battle in the tsuiso rounds. At Round Two at Suzuka Circuit, Kawabata was the top qualifier during the first round of Tanso qualifying, earning 101.40 points. Then, in the third round at Autopolis, Kawabata was on top of Tanso qualifying once again, leading the points chase in the single run category and fifth place overall for the season. GReddy and Kawabata have taken great strides with the brand new chassis in competition thus far. With three rounds left in the season, the championship is far from decided, and Kawabata still has time to defend his title as he aims at a third championship. Despite the new rules, this team’s winning strategy has not faltered.
