Twin-Turbocharged Nissan 350Z

BAD LUCK STREAK

DSPORT Magazine Twin-turbocharged 350ZThis had been far from a straightforward build, and fate was not through challenging Spielman’s resolve. As the vehicle neared completion, thieves set the build back another step when they stole his bright orange, powder coated Volk Racing TE37 wheels. The Z was parked inside the apartment complex parking structure at the time it was fleeced. Fortunately, Spielman sourced another set of TE37s, finally getting the build back on track.

The effort proved worthwhile in the end, as it was a blast to drive on the streets and an eye catcher at shows. Spielman commented, “I built the car for myself, not because of show car scoring systems or what others wanted to see. Nonetheless, the car has won several awards, has been featured on numerous websites and can be seen in commercials. The finished product is, however, a product of the guidance and advice of Team Hybrid’s James Lin. I was proud of my efforts once the project reached a stage of acceptance by the team. However, the single greatest moment had to be the first time I mashed on the gas while getting onto the freeway.” Despite the adversity he faced during the build, Spielman demonstrated a resolve that showed his determination in the face of adversity.
