The Bottom Line
With basic intake and exhaust bolt- on parts, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 gained nearly 17 horsepower at the wheels. These gains were realized by simply allowing the factory ECU to “retune” for the mods. More exact calibration of the fuel and ignition maps would likely provide even greater gains from these parts. Even with the current improvements to the car, the increased power and enhanced acoustics takes driving the Coupe to a whole new level of fun. As more parts become available for the Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6, we’ll try to squeeze more power out the 3.8- liter V6. Stay tuned.
