Here is a first look at Infiniti’s latest offering into the premier sports sedan line with their 2014 Infiniti Q50.
Introduced in 2003, the Infiniti G35 took on a luxury sport sedan segment already saturated with numerous European offerings. Over the last ten years, the performance of the G sedan never went unnoticed, with its underpinnings derived from the 350/370Z. For 2014, Infiniti looks to challenge its competitors again with a replacement for the G sedan, the 2014 Infiniti Q50.
The Q50 offers two engine choices – a familiar 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 or a 360-net-horsepower 3.5-liter hybrid. All Q50s whether rear-wheel or all-wheel drive will come equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission. In order to optimize vehicle performance per the driver’s preference, a drive mode selector comes standard on all Q50s. This drive mode selector features five different modes including standard, sport, eco, snow, and personal. Other new features for the Q50 include Direct Adaptive Steering™, Infiniti InTouch™ and Active Lane Control™. The all-new Active Lane Control™ utilizes a camera-based lane marker detection system to help drivers stay within their lane. With a host of new technologies combined with a solid chassis and engine, Infiniti’s newest vehicle contends with fierce competition from Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.
