The D’Garage Project EK was built by DSPORT Project Coordinator Jeren Walker. His objective was to build a 9-second Pro-Am FWD Honda that he could drive to work everyday. Little did he know that his baby would grace the cover of DSPORT as quickly as it did. Before he knew it, his Heineken green (in honor of his favorite brew) Project EK was on the cover with Jessica Burciaga. Jeren was constantly working to extract horsepower from his turbocharged B-series engine. At the track, he recorded a best pass of 10.3@135MPH, just shy of his goal of breaking 9’s.

In Issue 75, Project EK received a TiAL Sport V60 wastegate, an MSD fuel pump voltage booster and a new downpipe and exhaust fabricated by Fred Su at Evolution Racewerks. After Koji at Drift Speed retuned the EK, it put down 615 horsepower and 459 lb-ft torque.

UPDATE
Jeren sold the EK about a year after the car made the cover of DSPORT to get out of debt. This Civic was the first and only D’Garage car to grace the cover of the magazine.  With this lesson learned, he looks forward to building a new Pro-Am Civic that will put the old EK to shame.
