200 MPH, HERE WE COME
With the Integra back on its wheels, Kerr returned to Coalinga for the Shift S3ctor Airstrip Attack 5. In the standing half-mile race on Saturday, he produced a class record trap speed of 187.34 mph. While much closer to his goal, Kerr isn’t finished. He’ll tell you that his goal is 190 mph in the half-mile along with a nine-second quarter-mile pass, but in the same breath he’ll also tell you that he believes 200 mph isn’t entirely unreasonable. “Whether that’s in the mile or just past a halfmile, I’d like to do that,” he says. “Call me crazy, but it sounds like fun.”
