No Boost, No Nitrous, No Problem
The Pro-Am All Motor class could have been named “Hondas versus one Mazda”, as that’s exactly what it was. Eric Darby Jr. raced his first generation RX-7 against a field of Hondas, qualifying second only to Jerry Guzman. As the eliminations proceeded, Darby ran consistently in the high ten second range. His consistency carried him past Knie Mouchn and TB Adde to reach the finals against Guzman. Unfortunately for Darby, Guzman got quicker during the eliminations round, clicking off a 10.378 second pass to beat Darby and take the class victory.
