Sin City Supra: 800 WHP Stock-Block Sure Bet

Strength In Numbers

At each intake port, an Injector Dynamics ID1000 fuel injector delivers the E85 that is available at the pump in many stations throughout Las Vegas. To keep up with the demands of 6,000 cc/min of fuel injection, a pair of Denso in-tank fuel pumps supply the fuel rail. An HKS F- Con V-Pro engine management orchestrates the injection and igniton events while NGK plugs deliver the spark to get the party started.

A Dynocom Dynamometer was used to tune the engine management system. Mike Angel, Insane Speed’s resident tuner, optimized the fuel and ignition tables for reliable power delivery. With a Turbosmart e-Boost2 electronic boost control holding boost pressure steady at 32 psi, the Supra spun the rollers to the tune of 801.8 horsepower and 715.4 lb-ft torque.

Stop N’ Go

Racing Hart Wheels on Bryanna Gass 800 whp SupraProducing power well beyond the factory output warranted improvements to the driveline. An RPS billet flywheel and Twin- Carbon Clutch transfer power from the crank to the stock V160 transmission’s input shaft while the output shaft delivers torque to a Drive Shaft Shop high- performance propeller shaft. A TRD limited-slip differential splits the power to the 19-inch Racing Hart wheels carrying Yokohama Advan AD08 tires. With plenty of power on tap, bringing the nearly 3,400 pound chassis to a halt is just as important. To this end, Stoptech stainless- steel braided lines and cross-drilled rotors replace the factory hardware. Hawk Performance HPS pads provide increased friction to improve the stopping performance of the factory calipers behind each wheel. While higher-capacity braking systems may be warranted for a circuit car, the basics do wonders on the street.

Clean and Mean

Not one to miss on the details, Bryanna chose the exterior pieces for her Supra with cleanliness in mind. A JDM Ridox front bumper, TRD hood, Stillen skirts and Rod Millen wing lend subtle yet aggressive accents to the smooth lines of the Supra. She commented, “Using body parts that fit well was very important to me. I didn’t want bowing side skirts or obnoxious gaps between parts. In addition, we added tasteful pink accents to the brakes and to selected components under the hood so that it would look like a girl owned the car without looking girly.”

Where It Is, Where It’s Going

Bryanna feels a sense of achievement driving her Supra. From the shocked looks when she takes out wary opponents on the streets to the thumbs up from random guys, she is very proud of her build. Now a performance addict, Bryanna is not done yet. She has plans to install a competition-grade sound system on par with the car’s engine performance. If Bryanna gets bored with having 800 wheel horsepower under her foot, a 3.4-liter stroker engine with larger turbo will be the next step. Based on her performance to date, the odds are that Bryanna is well on her way to hitting the jackpot.

Special thanks to Mikey, Todd, Brett and Josh at Insane Speed along with Marty at Turbosmart for their respective build efforts and guidance.
