Scion FR-S/BRZ Intake Test: Pt 1 | Testing with the Factory Programed ECU

The Results & Part 2

While every effort and practice was made to deliver repeatable and accurate dyno results, the factory- programmed ECU is a constant source of error in results. The results published in this article are only applicable to a Scion FR-S that is completely stock with the exception of the intake being tested. The results are also only valid for 91-octane fuel.

Unhappy with the inconsistency and performance limits placed on the engine by the factory programming of the ECU, our gameplan is to rerun the test again on the same vehicle after implementing the ECUTEK solution. The ECUTEK and other reflash solutions are likely to be the only way to break that 5-percent limit on additional power production. Now go ahead and read our Part 2 of testing.
